ACTIVITY 5


LESSON PLAN 5
Subject:English
Grade: 7th grade
Duration:30 minutes

Description
This lesson is one example of how you can implement an English dramatization. It fosters collaborative work students’ interaction. In this time, this activity will be adapted based on book about legends of Latin America but it can be adapted to any book students are reading, and that helps students engage in what they are reading.

Learning Goals
§  Practice the irregular verbs
§  Make body movements

Materials
Some irregular verbs image

What to do
Irregular Verbs List
§  Teacher present some irregular verbs
§  The class is divided into two groups
§  The first group will choose 5 verbs and the second group other 5 verbs
§  All the members of the second group make the action using body movement according to the verb. And the first group try to guess the verb
§  Then is the turn of the other group to make the activity.

Evaluate (outcomes to look for)
§  Student’s participation
§  Small group collaboration, with all members of the group participating equally

Students will select the most appropriate material

What to do
§  Teacher forms four groups of 5 students
§  Each group will read the next link about little red riding hood (https://www.booksummary.net/little-red-riding-hood-charles-perrault/)
§  Each group will divide the scenes to develop a dramatization of the story

Evaluate (outcomes to look for)
·         Student engagement and participation
·         Small group collaboration, with all members of the group participating equally
·         Presentations and questions that reflect an understanding of story.

§  Represent a story using scene movements

Materials

What to do

§  Teacher creates two groups (8 people each group)
§  First group read the story and then create one scene summarizing the story
§  The second group watch carefully the scene from their classmates and then write a new story according what they seen. (using future progressive).

§  Student’s creativity and participation
§  Presentation and organization

Duration: 35 minutes

In this time, this activity will be adapted based on book about legends of Latin America but it can be adapted to any book students are reading, and that helps students engage in what they are reading.

Learning Goals
ü  Use simple past tense
ü  Create a dramatization to communicate the story

Materials
Students should look for the appropriate materials to use according their criteria
What to do
ü  Teacher gives students a short story (using simple past tense)
ü  Teacher divides the class in two groups of 5 students
ü  Each group need to choose three different sentences in simple past tense from the story.
ü  Each group will represent the 3 sentences that they chose using one scene for each sentence.

ü  Use of simple past
ü  Students participation
